Web design and content management with Wordpress

We use wordpress blogging application as out content management software for our web site. You can download this free at wordpress.org. Follow the instruction to install in on your domain, wherever you have it hosted. We created pages with static content that doesn’t normally change and create post for new announcements, articles, and other information that changes on a regular basis or where we may want feedback from the viewers.

By default, this loads with a very generic theme. You can change the theme within the tool and you can also purchase premium themes.

You can also create a free wordpress site directly on wordpress.com. This is how we started off and it is an excellent way to get your church name recognized on the web. We no longer keep ours up to date but simply point people to our official church site. You can add youtube video, photo and much more for free. Before using wordpress we averaged about 10-15 hits per month on our web site and we could not figure out how to increase this. After using wordpress for about a year, we get between 150-200 hits per day.
